SOUTHOLD YACHT CLUB SAILING SCHOLARSHIPS

The Southold Yacht Club is once again offering sailing scholarships in the memory of Anthony Couloucoundis. Boys and girls in Southold Town between the ages of seven and fifteen are eligible.

Scholarship applicants must write a letter of 100 words explaining why he or she would like to learn to sail, and should convey "the zest for life" that characterized Anthony Couloucoundis. Entries will be judged on the basis of originality, sincerity and content.

Applicants will be selected to receive sailing instruction over the months of July and August. In addition the families of the winners will receive complimentary family membership in the Southold Yacht Club for the summer season. A total value of over $1500.00 each.

All entries must be received by March 1st of the calendar year. Please include the name and contact address and telephone number of the applicant on the entry. Additionally, a letter of recommendation from your teacher. Successful applicants will be notified within 30 days of the closing date.
