Our mission is to make sailing accessible to the North Fork community

We are a small family-oriented club open to all who have a love of sailing. Founded in in 1938, Southold Yacht Club has been a focal point for sailing and boating on Long Island's North Fork for over 80 years. The culture of the club is friendly and casual - sail in our weekly racing series, enjoy club events, store and launch your sailboat on our beach, or have your kids learn to sail while having fun. SYC is open to all who have a love of sailing and our beautiful waterways.

Members actively participate on the board of governors and important committees. SYC is seasonal with activities scheduled from Memorial Day to Columbus Day. During July and August our primary focus is operating our Junior Sailing Program for children from 7 to 17 years of age. Many of our students have become outstanding sailors, and some have participated in National, North American and World's Championships.

MEMBERSHIP LEVELS & ANNUAL DUES

Family Membership is a requirement to participate in the Junior Sailing Program which has a separate enrollment fee. Single children under the age of 25 are included under the Family Membership. Associate Members can register their children into the First Mates without the cost of a family membership provided that other children are not in a different sailing program. Children and grandchildren do not fall under the Senior Membership.

A one time initiation fee of $100 is applied to first year members only. If registrant is the child of a current Southold Yacht Club member in good standing, the first time initiation fee is waived.
