The Sailing School is pleased to announce the hiring of Suzan Sullivan as the first salaried SYC Director of the Sailing School Program.  As all members were previously informed, the Board decided to create this new paid position after determining that the time and effort required to run our current sailing program was too much of a burden to place on a volunteer.  Members, as well as the general public, were advised of this position through advertisements on the SYC website, Junior Sailing Association and US Sailing websites, and in The Suffolk Times. After carefully evaluating each candidates' qualifications and conducting comprehensive interviews, it was decided that Suzan's qualifications were best suited to meet the needs of our program.  Suzan has over 25 years of management experience with Verizon, has been very active in her local school district as a substitute teacher, PTA President, School Board representative, and chairperson of various committees. We are confident Suzan's extensive experience and great personal skills will be an asset to our complex and growing program.
